📢On December 3, 2024, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, hosted the Mayor of Bolzano, Italy, Renzo Caramaschi, and scientists from the Eurac Research Center of Italy at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, accompanied by the Rector of the European University of Armenia, Mrs. Heghine Bisharyan.
Welcoming the guests to the spiritual center of the Armenians, His Holiness presented the mission of Holy Etchmiadzin, emphasizing the vital role of Christianity in the life of the Armenian people and its influence on the formation of their spiritual and cultural heritage.
The Catholicos of All Armenians highly valued the contributions of the Eurac Research Center and the European University of Armenia to the development of education in Armenia, underlining the significance of their roles.
His Holiness also touched upon the warm relations and effective cooperation between the Armenian Apostolic Church and the Roman Catholic Church.
During the meeting, His Holiness expressed concern about the security challenges facing Armenia, highlighting the threats and pressures posed by Azerbaijan. He stressed the importance of the support of the international community and friendly nations for the Armenian people during these difficult times.
In turn, the Mayor of Bolzano, Renzo Caramaschi, shared his impressions of Armenia, and expressed confidence that, through their faith and spiritual strength, the Armenian people will overcome all trials. As a symbol of great friendship, he presented His Holiness with an icon inscribed with "Saint Lorenzo Protects Me," in response to which His Holiness presented a commemorative medal of the Mother See.
