📐The lecture will focus on the architectural image of Yerevan formed between 1932 and 1955, which was based on the works of followers of the great architect Alexander Tamanian's principles.
The architecture of Yerevan during this period was shaped by the approved master plan. Emphasis was placed on the formation of the urban environment, centered around the city squares, key hubs, and streets, organized by monumental classical-style buildings. These structures were distinguished by their scale and the rhythm of arcades and pilasters featured in their facades. The decorations of these facades incorporated ornamental motifs rooted in the traditions of national architecture.
