On December 12, 2024, an Erasmus+ 2024 informational meeting was held at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia as part of the Erasmus+ Information Days. The session aimed to introduce representatives of higher education institutions, NGOs, and other organizations to the opportunities offered by the program and to support Armenian partners involved in ongoing projects.

The event brought together active participants, including representatives of various universities, NGO members, partners in educational projects already receiving funding, and other interested individuals. The meeting was also attended by Gohar Avetisyan, Vice-Rector for External Relations and Internationalization at European University of Armenia, and Karine Sargsyan, Head of Quality Assurance and Educational Reforms Department at the European University of Armenia.

The meeting began with a welcome speech by Vardges Edoyan, Vice-Rector for International Relations at the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia. He expressed gratitude to the Erasmus+ National Office in Armenia for its contributions to national and joint projects in higher education and highlighted the importance of these programs for both professional and personal development. Edoyan also emphasized the value of establishing connections and strengthening collaborations.

Lana Karlova, Coordinator of the Erasmus+ National Office in Armenia, presented the opportunities within the Erasmus+ program for the higher education sector and outlined the application requirements. She highlighted the program’s various directions and proudly noted that Armenia ranks third in the region for the number of funded projects under the Capacity Building in Higher Education action and first for the number of funded projects under the Capacity Building in Vocational Education and Training (VET) action.

Gohar Avetisyan, Vice-Rector for External Relations and Internationalization at European University of Armenia, provided an overview of the Logical Framework Matrix methodology for project development and answered questions from the participants.

Attendees were also introduced to the methodology and steps for creating and implementing joint master’s programs, which were previously detailed during a regional two-day seminar titled “Developing and Implementing Joint Master’s Degree Programmes: Current Challenges and Perspectives” (TAM Follow-up). Kristine Gevorgyan, Coordinator of Master’s Programs at the Center for European Studies at Yerevan State University, shared her experience.

Ruzanna Minasyan, Head of the Academic Program Development Division at the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia, presented mechanisms for ensuring inclusivity and equity in the education sector. These consultations were based on knowledge and insights gained during the Erasmus+ international workshop titled “Towards Equity and Inclusion in Higher Education: Identifying Key Challenges and Policy Responses in Armenia“ (TAM Follow-up).
