On June 6, 2025, students and faculty members of the Translation Studies academic program, operating under the Chair of Applied Linguistics within the Faculty of Linguistics and Communication at the European University of Armenia, held a meeting with representatives from Enlight Studies, a public research center NGO. The representatives provided an overview of the center’s core activities, highlighting opportunities for continuing education and professional engagement. The meeting facilitated a productive exchange on the professional prospects of linguists and translators in the Republic of Armenia, as well as on potential areas for collaborative research projects involving faculty participation. Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Marine Avetisyan, Head of the Chair of Applied Linguistics, Associate Professor Dr. Sona Hakobyan, and Deputy Head of the Chair, Alina Petrosyan, discussed the faculty’s and department’s research priorities, along with future directions for the development of employer-engaged academic programs. These discussions were held in collaboration with Anna Khachyan, Editor-in-Chief of Enlight Studies, and Mariam Antikyan, Head of the Translation Division. As per preliminary agreements, beginning this academic year, students of the Translation Studies program will be able to undertake their academic internships and pre-graduation internships at Enlight Studies. Furthermore, plans are underway to design and implement joint research initiatives in cooperation with faculty and linguistic researchers.
