"Nemesis" event at EUA

The Student Council of the European University of Armenia organized a significant event titled “Nemesis”, dedicated to one of the most tragic and heroic chapters of Armenian history — the Armenian Genocide of 1915 and the subsequent demand for historical justice.

Heghine Bisharyan, Rector of the European University of Armenia, delivered a welcoming speech at the event. The EUA SC President Varand Zohrabyan delivered the opening remarks. As part of the event, a short film was presented featuring the participation of our students. The film served not only as a historical reflection but also as a deeply emotional experience and a revival of collective memory. Special attention was given to Operation Nemesis, symbolizing a step toward justice carried out by the Armenian people. The actions taken by Armenian avengers, including the elimination of Talaat Pasha, were presented as historical responses to the organizers of the genocide.

However, the event did not end there. It also addressed the painful realities of our time — the ethnic cleansing of Armenians in Artsakh, the genocidal policies pursued by Azerbaijan, the forced displacement of the population, the depopulation of Artsakh, and the ongoing destruction of Armenian cultural heritage.

This event conveyed a powerful message: silence in the face of history paves the way for new crimes. We are obliged to remember, speak out, and fight — for justice, for historical memory, and for the dignity of our people.

This initiative once again demonstrates that today’s youth are conscious of their past, vigilant in the face of present challenges, and determined to build a just and peaceful future.

Certificates of Participation were awarded at the end of the event.
