A visit to "Special Educational Complex for Children with Hearing Impairments /LHUE/ in Yerevan

The EUA first year students in "Psychology" specialty, accompanied by the lecturer Armine Nazaretyan, were again hosted in Yerevan "Special Educational Complex for Children with Hearing Impairments /LHUE/, where 5-18 year-old students study. As psychology students, we were immediately struck by the vibrant atmosphere of adaptation; we visited different classrooms with appropriate equipment where teachers fluently used gesture-language, allowing the children to fully engage in the curriculum. We were inspired by their drive to learn and communicate despite the challenges they faced. The campus' focus on creating a strong, supportive environment was also highly commendable. As future psychologists, this experience broadened our understanding of the psychological aspects of hearing impairment. We left with a sense of new goals and a strong desire to achieve them soon. Our students interacted with teachers, tried to master some gestures, interacted with children and also got acquainted with the salt room, which has a positive effect on the child's central nervous system, hyperactive and hyperactive children relax. We would like to thank Armine Babayan, the director of the educational educational complex, and all the staff for welcoming us and for their kind attitude. Special thanks to Armine Nazaretyan for organizing such a practice lesson.
